Who The Fuck Are You?
Aul Eire began as a college project in 2018, created from a small box room in Letterkenny with a mattress on the floor and a second-hand desk pressed against the wall.
What started as a few fake postcards and strange little stories about Ireland slowly expanded into its own parallel universe: somewhere between satire, folklore, local history, and emotional damage.
Since then, Aul Eire has grown into an ongoing archive of fictional tourism campaigns, civic disasters, haunted pubs, disappearing towns, suspicious infrastructure projects, and the general atmosphere of modern Irish existence.
Some of it is funny.
Some of it probably shouldn’t be.
“Aul Eire is what happens when nostalgia and satire begin accidentally telling the truth.”
Our Mission
At Aul Eire, we aim to brighten your day with a little bit of humour, a touch of darkness, a hint of melancholy, a stench of desperation, an ounce of greed, a tablespoon of cynicism, three quarts of half remembered dreams, and one full bag of dung.
Please don’t tell the dole.
